Paula and Michael Strydom started the Heartstrings Community Project in 2013 with the vision of bringing communities together – helping individuals, families, orphanages and creches by building and equipping classrooms and shelters and providing food, clothing and counsel to those in need.

The sale of decor items from the Heartstrings Trading Co brand, which was born out of the community project, has helped to keep it going and created employment, teach skills and give mentorship.

As Heartstrings grew the Strydoms realised the need for a church in Crestholme, and launched Frontier Church in 2015. They are now in the process of creating a community centre which will include a small library, kitchen, wedding venue, tea garden, garden nursery and a clothing and decor shop – all aimed at uplifting communities, empowering people and connecting hearts.
