An evening of beautiful music will be held at the Kloof Baptist Church this October with performances by local classical musicians, Annalie Herbst-van Rooyen (Opera singer) and Ct. Filip Kormuth (concert pianist and composer). The concert will also feature performances by choirs from Ukusakwabasha Primary School, Kloof Senior Primary and Kloof Junior Primary School.
All proceeds will go to the Neema Foundation, an NPO that reaches into the community, bringing hope through education, with a focus on teaching basic skills in English. The foundation was established by Kloof Baptist Church in 2011.K
After obtaining her BA degree in pedagogy, Annalie Herbst-van Rooyen made a decision to follow her true passion of opera singing. She has studied with some of the best voice teacher in South Africa and has been highly active in Cape Town, performing with top artists in the classical and contemporary scenes. We are very fortunate to have this magical voice settle down on the east coast!
Ct. Filip Kormuth is a concert pianist, composer and teacher, with over one hundred performances and 17 years of pedagogical experience under his belt. Ct. Filip has made Kloof his home and is active in creating awareness about the importance of music education through local schools, organisations and his music studio.
