124 golfers and 41 sponsors helped raise R30 000 at the recent IIE Varsity College Durban North Charity Golf Day hosted in association with the Virginia Flight School.

Held at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club, the aim of the day was to raise funds for the Qhubeka Education Project, the IIE Varsity College’s 2017 national CSI project. The R30 000 will be used to purchase bicycles from Qhubeka, which will be donated to high achieving disadvantaged students who walk long distances to school and back home.

Said Fathima Naidu, National Student Relations Manager the IIE Varsity College Durban North: “Thank you so much to everyone who came on board this year to make our Charity Golf Day such a resounding success. The new golf course was breath taking, and the golfers had an amazing day out. Most importantly we were able to raise a wonderful amount of money for a very worthy cause.”
