To help novice runners plan their training for the Comrades, give them insights about the route, what to expect along the way and to help them mentally and physically prepare, the well-received Bonitas Comrades Novice Seminars are being held in six cities!
The Comrades Marathon will be run on Sunday, June 10 this year. It is a ‘down-run’ from Pietermaritzburg to Durban and many of the 20 000 runners will be tackling this ultra-distance for the first time.
These informative seminars are aimed specifically at the first time Comrades Marathon runner. A panel of experts will be available to provide invaluable advice and also answer questions about the race, with the official Comrades Coach on hand to assist. Comrade’s officials will also be in attendance to help with details about registration as well as what to expect at the start and finish.
In the past, these seminars have helped thousands of newbie runners across the finish line.
The Comrades Marathon theme for 2018 being ‘Asijki – No turning back’ and the Bonitas Novice Seminars are designed so that the runners tackling the marathon for the first time, won’t.
Entrance is free and details of the dates and venues are available on the Comrades website at www.comrades.com as well as via the Comrades Marathon App. For more information, you can email Nonkululeko Mdlalose on Nonkululeko@comrades.com.
