Greedy Buddha was named as the best restaurant in Durban for Restaurant Week 2017.
Celebrating the best food in South Africa, the award recognises restaurants for high-quality dining experiences. Owner, Jess Watts and Executive Chef, Vernolon Reddy, snatched at the opportunity to showcase their Asian-inspired dishes and tantalising flavours to Durban foodies.
Diners were offered Restaurant Week specials for lunch or dinner across a wide list of restaurants, and asked to rate their experience on ambiance, food, and service. Greedy Buddha was up against some tough competition including 9th Avenue Bistro, Café 1999 and the Grill Room at the Oyster Box, but still managed to achieve top spot with an impressive rating of 9.8 out of 10
Chef Vernolon is elated. “We really wanted this. We expect a lot from ourselves but we were up against some really great restaurants. Obviously, this is a team effort, so we’re all on a high right now. And this sets the standard for the entire festive season. We’re going all-out for our corporate Christmas functions and we’re planning even more going into the New Year,” said Vernolon.
Greedy Buddha will compete in Restaurant Week Winners Edition, which pits the best restaurants from around the country against each other. The restaurant will be showing off its set menu from the 27th of November to the 30th of November. Bookings are now open and can be reserved at www.resataurantweek.co.za
