The team at IUA Business Solutions did more than put their hand in their pocket during Women’s month.

Company CEO, Gordon Emmott, challenged his organisation to collect handbags for the Jes Foord Foundation’s Handbag Project. Each handbag is stocked with items to assist and comfort rape victims. The Umhlanga Rocks-based insurance administrator collected 72 bags and a healthy donation which were handed over to Jes herself this week.

“We had an incredible, heartfelt response from our team of 150 employees”, said Gordon, who set the challenge against the backdrop of IUA’s values of responsiveness and relationships. “We are proud to support the Foundation and be part of a very worthy cause.”

Jes collected the bags from the IUA offices this week. A rape survivor herself, Jes says ” A bag of ‘comfort’ items can go a long way in helping the victim feel a little better.”
