Between 27th April and 8th June, The Crescent Shopping Centre in Umhlanga will be running a charity initiative: Rhino meets Reality, on behalf of Project Rhino KZN.
The initiative comprises of three aspects, including a 5 cent collection, where they aim to raise at least 400 000 5 cent pieces (R20 000) for Project Rhino KZN. Collection boxes will be placed in the Pick n Pay passage way and other participating stores in the centre.
There will also be a number of schools from the Ridge area participating in an art exhibition and competition for Grade R to Grade 7. These masterpieces will be displayed in the Pick n Pay passage way and rotate weekly over the six week period. Winners from each grade will be chosen each week, with prizes sponsored by a number of The Crescent tenants, including Tekkie Town, Wimpy, Waltons, Imagine That, Meltz and Bargain Books. These finalists will then go through to a final where one overall winner will be chosen from each grade. Hall of Frames will sponsor the framing for the 8 winning pieces of art (1 winner per grade).
