This weekend sees the long awaited Taste of Durban show arrive at Suncoast Casino. From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 July this prestigious event will bring together Durban’s leading chefs and food producers with Durban’s most dedicated and sophisticated foodies!

Some choice offerings over the weekend include food prepared by Marcelle Roberts from Cafe 1999, Graham Nielson from 9th Avenue Bistro, Jackie Cameron from Hartford House, Louise Potgieter from Havana Grill and Little Havana, Dayvanand Shankar Poojary from Jewel of India and JayCee Zondi from Max’s in Umlazi.

You can use the special currency for the show, “Crowns”, to purchase drinks and food, wander around, enjoy the brandies being showcased, enjoy the Thailand experience, learn how to make canapés, which wines match which food – the culinary excitement really does keep coming!

Another option would be to choose a wine estate and a restaurant … and eat to your heart’s content, or go and watch the Fresh Living Chefs’ Theatre where local chefs will demonstrate their signature dishes.

Kids have their own area at the Heatherbelle Café where for R35 they can drum, enjoy face painting and lots of activities while staying safe.

There will be a small producers’ area, a Taste and Buy area, and so much more! Sports fans can even watch the rugby on big screens, and there’ll be live music at every session to set the mood.

Tickets are R80 for a standard ticket which includes a tasting glass, R200 for a premium ticket which includes R120 of Crowns to be spent at the show, or you can buy a DSTV Taste Club House ticket for R685 which will give you fast track entry, a gift, a glass, a private Clubhouse base for the show, free bar and R180s worth of Crowns!

Book online to avoid queues, by buying at www.tasteofdurban.co.za, for all sessions. Friday runs from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, Saturday from 1pm to 5pm then from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, and then on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
